Same Wavelength is a series of conversations with artists exploring the relationship between their creative work and our current political moment.

Equal parts oral history project and journalistic interview series, Same Wavelength exists at the intersection of the work of Studs Terkel, Terry Gross, Bill Moyers, and Fred Rogers. Each episode presents a thoughtful dialogue with an artist discussing what is most meaningful and urgent for them as artists, citizens, and activists. Same Wavelength is an exploration of histories – collective and personal – as a means to reframe our moment through the artist’s lens.

Season One includes conversations with Tony and Grammy Award-winner Anaïs Mitchell, Merrill Garbus from Tune-Yards, Henry Rollins, Kamasi Washington, Andrea Gibson, David Crosby, Alynda Segarra from Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Archie Shepp.

Season Two, coming in the spring of 2020, will highlight the voices of Los Angeles-based artists.

Same Wavelength can be found on all major podcast platforms.

Same Wavelength is hosted, produced, and created by radio producer Michael Sokol. Over the past decade, Michael has conducted hundreds of interviews with artists, business owners, and community leaders as an on-air host in Western Massachusetts. He lives in Los Angeles.
